Default Traded in the 40 series for the 50!

Well, I had a lot of raddling noise when I first started out going, and my pipes were getting bent so I took it to the muffler shop.(great story, right!?!?!) And the guy hualed it up and saw that the muffler was cracked, and rusted. All because of the hangers fell off from a small collision with what looked like a rock. He said under warrenty, he will fix it but it isn't going to last long before it breaks. An hour ago he took off a 50 series from a truck because he said it was too loud. He goes "$140 for it all,30min to install, and you will have a baddd *** exhaust" So I told him to go ahead and put it on. MAN THAT THING PURRRSSS NOW! I heard it with the 40s 30min before he put the new exhaust on. He started that thing up and it was just an insane difference!!
So my conclusion.
40 series, good moderate level purr.
50 series, Barly legal, LOUD as hell when you get on it, and just sounds awwwssssooommmeeee!!!!!

Seems like you have it backwards..

The 50 series is a 3 chamber muffler, and is much quieter and less agressive sounding.. The 40 series is a 2 chamber muffler, and is louder overall, and much more agressive sounding.

I would also say you might have it backwards; or maybe he put a super 40 or plain 40 instead of a 50. But if indeed you gota 50then that's the first instance where I've heard of the 50 being louder than the 40.

I will check it when I can. I know he said that the 40 is quiet(what I thought I had), 50 gets you noticed. and above is almost illegal. I gotta check it out that is wierd

Thats Bass Ackwards,I have the 50 series because I didnt want it so loud. I have a friend with a 40 and his cab resonance at highway speeds would drive me nuts.So I got the 50, mellow at idle but roars when I mat it !

Yeah, either he didn't know what he was talking about, or he said it backwards, or you heard it backwards.. I used to have the 50 series on my truck and it was hardly noticable, I switched to the 40 series, and now it roars. Not a big deal, if it sounds better, that's all that matters..

For the record it's spelled receipt.
