Well i saw the previous post on how to enable and disable the horn, lights, and unlocking on doors on the keyless entry. I found this adendum i was given with my owners manual due to the instructions in the book not working, these instructions do, so i hope it helps whoever needs it. Good luck.

---THE SYSTEM CAN BE PROGRAMMED TO UNLOCK ALL THE DOORS OR DRIVERS DOOR ONLY UPON THE FIRST UNLOCK BUTTON PRESS BY USING THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:

1. PERFORM THIS OPERATION WHILE STANDING OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE.

2. PRESS AND HOLD THE LOCK BUTTON ON YOUR KEY.

3. CONTINUE TO HOLD THE LOCK BUTTON AT LEAST 4 SECONDS, BUT NO LONGER THAN 10 SECONDS, THEN PRESS AND HOLD THE UNLOCK BUTTON WHILE STILL HOLDING THE LOCK BUTTON.

4. RELEASE BOTH BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME.

5. THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO UNLOCK ALL DOORS ON THE FIRST PRESS OF THE UNLOCK BUTTON.

---THE HORN CHIRP FEATURE WILL BE SHIPPED FROM THE ASSEMBLY PLANTS ACTIVATED. IF DESIRED THIS FEATURE CAN BE DISABLED BY USING THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:

1. PERFORM THIS OPERATION WHILE STANDING OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE.

2. PRESS AND HOLD THE LOCK BUTTON ON THE PROGRAMMED(I.E. FUNCTIONAL) KEY.

3. CONTINUE TO HOLD THE LOCK BUTTON, WAIT AT LEAST 4 SECONDS, BUT NO LONGER THAN 10 SECONDS, THEN PRESS AND HOLD THE PANIC BUTTON. RELEASE BOTH BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME.

4. TO REACTIVATE THIS FEATURE, REPEAT THE ABOVE STEPS.

---VEHICLES WILL BE SHIPPED FROM THE ASSEMBLY PLANTS WITH THE PARK LAMP FLASH FEATURE ACTIVATED. IF DESIRED, THIS FEATURE CAN BE DISABLED BY USING THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:

1. PERFORM THIS OPERATION WHILE STANDING OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE.

2. PRESS AND HOLD THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON A PROGRAMMED(I.E. FUNCTIONAL) KEY.

3. CONTINUE TO HOLD THE UNLOCK BUTTON, WAIT AT LEAST 4 SECONDS, BUT NO LONGER THAN 10 SECONDS, THEN PRESS AND HOLD THE LOCK BUTTON. RELEASE BOTH BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME.

4. TO REACTIVATE THIS FEATURE, REPEAT THE ABOVE STEPS.

I used both the horn chirp and unlocking all doors on the first unlock, it worked great first try. I had to type this out, so i sure hope it helps.

So did any one use this and if so did it help? A lot easier than going to the dealer.

It's hard for me to get pictures in there but I'll PM you a diagram I made on paint of how it works.

 

I did it and worked great on the first try! I really didnt want to take my truck to the dealer to have them do it. Now only if someone could figure out how to turn on the high idle and power off delay feature on the '06's....

 

Fantastic - thanks for sharing this. I was going to ask these questions next, right after the one about the flashing lights/horn honking meltdown that happens to me sometimes. If I could only figure out how to disable the VTSS (vehicle theft security system) on my 06 Laramie Mega 1500. It is unbelieveably annoying to have the truck go berserk every time the very sensitive Panic Button gets bumped, and nobody pays any attention to alarms any more so why put up with it? Anyone know an answer? Even if just the horn could be disabled from the alarm system....
