Why is there no red-line in the rpm guage? What is the redline for a 05 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4?

 

I believe there is no "red line" appearing on your tach guage because its controlled electronically. When you get to the highest safe revs, the computer will not let you go any higher. I have no idea what that rpm figure is. Maybe someone else on this forum knows.

 

I think it depends on your engine. I wanted to see where mine was in my dakota, so i hauled a** and didn't let it shift until i was ready (Auto Tranny shifted manually) I have the 3.9L V6 and i think the computer governed out at about 5.5-6 grand.

 

mine is the same, around 5500. its the 2002 5.9l. but i do have a redline on my tach.

 

Stock rev limiter is about 5850 rpm if I remember correctly with the 5.7L
