My buddy was looking for a lift kit for his 04 and he was told that they are only made for the 2500 and 3500 unless you want to get one custom made. It seems there is alot of people breaking their U Joints or something like that. I am a on-road kinda guy myself so i dont really know the particulars. Good luck with it though.

there is a product called supersprings, they come in 2500 and 3000lb capacity for 1/2 tons. they do not hurt your ride, only kick in when you have a load

I'm in the process of getting custom leaf packs built for the rear of my 1500. The aftermarket is very slow in coming up with anything for us. I found some leaf packs from Skyjacker with 5" of lift but i'm only looking for 4" in the rear to eliminate the rear rake. Plus, they want nearly $600 for a pair and it's looking like custom pieces will be less. I'm using Valley Spring here in Phoenix. In my opinion it makes sense to have EXACTLY what you want made rather than compromise with add a leaf and blocks. I used an add a leaf originally with my Superlift and with my offroad use, i have worn them out quickly.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Air bags are the way to go. Fully adjustable with pressure which also improves ride under most other conditions too. I had them under a 96 1500 Ram which was lowered. They were awesome, real reasonable price wise and about a 2 hr installation. Highly recommended.

That's a good idea. I've got them on my motorhome, and hadn't even thought about them for this use.

These are what I've got on it...they work great. www.ride-rite.com

I agree, airbags are the solution.
