Default Cross Over Tool Box for Power Wagon

I just bought an 07 Power Wagon and wish to install the tool box accross the rail near the cab. The Dodge Owners manual has a statement regarding using Mopar bracket and reinforcing kit for installing a tool box. No part numbers or other information was given as to why this should be used rather than the standard J-hooks that come with the box. The Dodge parts guys confirmed there is such a bracket kit, but they also have know idea why it is needed.

Can anyone that has installed a box help. Is thisMopar bracket kitneeded?

I installed a backrack on my 05 PW that requires holes to bo drilled so I just kept drilling for the tool box, have had no problems and is a solid install. Although if you don't plan on keeping the truck maybe brackets would be a good idea.

IMO I think there are 2 reasons.
1. Power wagons are designed as a ruged off road truck and to prevent the tool box from coming loose and causing damage to your truck, or damaging the bed rails were the J bolt goes incase you have a very rough ride.
2. To make some extra money...

I had the J bolts on my 04 ram's toolbox. The rails pulled up slightly, but the box didn't move. I would recommend that if you do use J bolts, you put some type of rubber coating as not to scratch the paint in case you decide to remove it. Me personally, I'm not into drilling holes into my truck. Well at least not yet.. Just my $ 0.02.
