Default leak question

hello
i am new to this web forum and dodges in general. anyhow, i just bought my first dodge truck it is a 2003 1500 quad cab ram sport with the 5.7 hemi. well, i brought it home and noticed a small puddle under the front end. it looks like a redish fluid, so i took it to my guys at jiffy and they said i have a power steering hose leak. they said it was the clamp probably, but can anyone please help me to locate where this leak maybe. like i said, i am new with these newer trucks and dodges in general. please help me locate where the leak would be coming from. thanks
jordan

You will have to wipe off the old fluid, I use a paper towel with brake clean to see where it is leaking from.

Yeah, its probably one of those el cheapo clamps from the factory. Just put a new hose clamp right behind it and all should be good.

Yup, not uncommon---most likely the return hose from the rack to the pump/reservoir. A buddy at work had the same problem with his and took it into the dealer to make them fix it (under warranty). He finally ended up getting a common worm screw clamp for it instead of those wire clamps, hasn't had a drip since.

well, i thought i had the problem fixed, i went out and bought a small worm hose clamp and put that sucker on.well this morning before work, i looked under the truck and there was a puddle of some redish fluid. this time it wasnt a few drops it was a big puddle. i looked under the truck and there is a rubber coil looking thing with the steering and i think it could be where it is coming from as well, because it was wet and had a drip on it. what do you guys think? could it be my powersteering or something else? please help, i cant afford to put a bunch of money into this thing. thanks

Ok, well I think I found out where the leak is coming from. Can anyone help me on what to do. I got some new clamps from the hardware store and put those one, then got some lucas powersteering sealer. Here are some a few pics of where the leak is coming from. Please excuse my pics, my camera is not the best.

I guess I need to explain. The leak is right above the power steering hoses right under what I believe is the cooler.

That's the hose to the cooler. Mine sprayed all over everything making it hard to see where it was coming from. Just make sure it's on all the way and put your new clamp.
