Default Issue with Keyfobs

I have an 07 1500 QC w/ hemi (picked it up 2 weeks ago!), and I am experiencing issues with the keyfobs. They only work 50% of the time. The only way for me to get them to work again is to put the key in the ignition and turn it to On and back off again. Anyone experience this? Are keyfobs powered by batteries? Pretty friggin' frustrating after only 2 weeks!!

Funny you should mention this. I was on my way in the bank today for a meeting about a mortgage and my truck wouldn't lock with the keyfob. I had to push the button about 40+ times before it worked. There was nothing in the way and I was only about 8-10 feet away. First time mine has done this in the 6 months I've had my '06. I didn't have to put the key back in the ignition, but I still hope it doesn't again.

Many keyfobsuse 2batteries about the size of a dime. Radio Shack, Wal Mart and many other stores carry them. You can use a pencil eraser to clean off the contacts and the battery itself. They normally last 2 years or so.............your owners manual should have more info.

Thanks for the info. I will check the manual and see about changing or cleaning the batteries. Hope this is the fix.

06 and 07 use's a single battery and I have had the same problem with my 06. I can normaly just open and shut the drivers door and it will fix it.

But it is very upsetting when I have walked to the door of my home and it will not lock. It happens a lot to me it seems.
