Burning wires? Heated Seats?
Ok, I just left the parts store with some supplies and when I opened the door, all I could smell was what burning wires smelled like. I quickly searched for anything abnormal. I found nothing visual, and its not something under the dash. I'm 99.9% sure thats its something under the drive seat. Even though the front of the truck was facing the sun, both front seats felt warmer than normal (they are heated leather seats). I disconnected the seat heater connectors, and drove home (about a mile) and disconnected the battery cables just in case. Has anyone had any kind of malfunction with their heated seats? I left the seats unplugged (not the power adjust), and reconnected the battery. I'm going back out after dinner to check again. Any body that has problems with their seats please let me know. Thanks.
Just an update:
I know this was a long time ago, but I finally got the truck in the shop for the fix. Turns out that the heated seat module went bad. The module is located under the driver seat, and when the seats were plugged in, theywould heat up regardless off the key being on or not. So if anyone ever has this happen to them, the easiest way to shut them off is unplug the connectors under each seat.
