Some weekend fun.
Got home from work on a thursday and noticed a large puddle under the passenger side of the cab. Opened the door and was met by that wonderful smell. Heater Core dumped all over the passenger side of the cab, carpet was soaked. After a call to the dealer I realized this was something I was going to have to do, a 90 dollar part and 1.2 Million in labor.
I am not a mechanic but I can do a few things so I attacked it, almost lost. This was unreal, anyone else ever get into pulling the hvac housing out? Got some pics below.
This is an '03 QC 4.7 4x4 Offroad with 90k miles, anyone else have a core go out? I found some other threads that make me think this is kind of common.

I only had 11 screws / bolts left over, no rattles or squeaks yet

There were a few posts quite some time ago about the cores going bad-----sucks!!!!!
Make sure you check the coolant PH to ensure it did not get acidic. Old coolant can get acidic and eat your engine up from the inside out. A good indication is the coolant is a rust red muddy color and not clear.
Just a heads up
