07 Ram "after burner" tail lights

I have an 07 Ram 4X4 and hate the new after burner style tail lights, will the 06 smooth tail lights work? Some say yes, some say no. Is the wiring harness and conection the same? 05 had a circuit board with one connector. Don't know about 06.
