2004 QC Speaker Wires
Hello, first time on...
Does anyone know the speaker wire colors for the 2004 QC? I got a newcustom box for 2 10sand amps and want to install next weekend. I found the wire color info fora Dakota, but don't if it's the same for my 1500 QC.
Thanks!

bad idea if you are wanting to splice into the existing speakers to feed your amp. If your head unit does not have RCA Pre-outs then you should go to Best Buy or another stereo shop and get an RCA adapter that will allow you to run RCA's from your head unit to your amp.
Yeah... gotta agree that you need to run new wires and get the RCA adapters... the only problem is you won't have the control that you would have if you bought a new head with preouts on it. I replaced my door speakers with some RF's and had the same issue, although I never found a wire diagram. Instead, I cutthe wires before they connected into the factory speakers, so I could keep a piece of the color wires in place for a referance. Then I took a 9 volt battery and two short pieces of wire and touched the posts where the factory wires attached to. If the speaker "popped" out then they were on the right polarity, if the speaker "sucked" in it was reversed. Now you would know what was positive and what was negative.
I have typically always updated the head unit, and I understand what you are saying. I got the Q-Logic box so that it could be a sleeper... My truck already gets enough attention, and I feel a little safer at this point if people see the factory head unit when they look inside my windows. I will most likely get the high-to-low level converters to convert the signal to low level RCAs.
While we're on the subject... If I used the high level input (speaker wire input) on the amp, the amp internally knocks it down to a low level signal to be amplified. The only difference really is the risk of alternater feedback. If you keep the high-level wires away (one on driver side, one on passenger side) from 12V wires, you wont get the alternator feedback (whine) either.
Either way,I wanted the colors so I could get it done in a couple hours (4 channel amp for doors, 2 channel for 10s, and the Q-Logic box.
Thanks for the help.
