I have a 04 2500 Hemi Ram and my power steering stop workings intermediately. My fluid is completly full. Also when you move the steering well sharply to the left or the right you can feel it "hang" up a little. Any ideas?

can you still turn the wheel when the PSTG pump stops workin? i'd say it prolly could be the pump or the rack...and when you say it "hangs" that make me think it's the rack.....but thats just my $.02 worth

 

No, I can not turn the wheel. It only last for about 2-5 seconds. Then I can turn the wheel again. The "hang" is always there. When I turn the wheel sharply left and right on a few inches I can feel it hang or a better term maybe stick. It feel likes it hits somethings.

 

well, heres a chart of things that the service manual says that could cause a sticking/binding problem...hope this helps
