Why do you want air shocks? I wouldn't get helper springs, it would just make your ride sh!tty without a load. Look online for air bags. There's plenty out there for around $200 and they are bolt on. They won't make your ride suffer and you can inflate and deflate as needed. You don't have to buy the one with a compressor since you can air them up either with your own compressor or at a gas station. They work great. Ask Hammer.

well i choose air shocks just because of the same situation, inflate when have a load and deflate when not loaded

i just think the air shocks would be quicker and easier

Helper leafs are so '80s man. Bagging is the only way to go and like Johnny boy said, you don't need to opt for the on board compressor or fancy auto level kits, I paid under $180 three years ago, installed them in about 2 hours and love 'em. The bags hold so little air that you can completely inflate them (which I've NEVER had to go over about 40% capacity even when trailering a 7700 lb. tractor) in about 30 seconds even with a little cheapy $15 12v compressor...

All I have are the Air Lift Ride Controls at 2000# leveling capacity. The 5000# bags are nice but WAY overkill and you can't use them with a lift like you can the 2000# setup due to the way they mount. Besides 2000# of level means that much in the bed or that much tongue weight and that's WAY more than enough for a half ton truck.

As I've stated a gajillion times, I welded my brackets onto the frame as I didn't feel like drilling to bolt it on, but either way, installation is a breeze.

Here they be for $181.89:

"Yabut"... Don't air shocks lets you go softer than stock as well? This would be more for off-road, but bags won't let you go softer than what you already have.

Guess I shoulda shopped around. I've got the exact same kit except I paid $215 at moes for it. $182 is a great price for free shipping too.

EDIT: Just saw that the kit Hammer posted, according to Airlifts website, will only fit the 94-01 dodge ram 1500s. You need to get the 59551 kit for 02-08 rams. Thats according to the manufacture anyways.
