Default Which trans pan & filter?

Good Afternoon Folks!

It's been a while...

My probably future son-in-law has a 2014 1500, he's the original owner. I'm flying out from VA to CO to do brakes on a couple of their vehicles Nov 7th, including the RAM. I offered to do the trans fluid while i was there provided it has been changed within the last 100k to 135k miles, and all good there as it is at about 75k (i let them know from now on every 40k just to be sure as she's, as my doctor has been telling me for the last 39 years, not getting any younger)..

Searching YouTube for trans fluid change on a 2014 1500 i am running into two different pan & filter arrangements. One that integrates the filter with the pan and the other has what i am used to - drop the pan and take the filter off with a twisting motion. Well, in this case the latter also has a can that needs replacement.

I suspect the difference is if the vehicle is packed with a 5.7 vs a 3.6, but honestly don't know (not even sure if those engine sizes are correct - i only started to study the RAM 1500 a day or so ago).

Since you folks are the experts i am going to be the kid in the candy store that just holds out a handful of change- We have a VIN of 1C6RR7VT0ES2xxxxx. Would someone help me out on this? If it is the filter-in-the-pan type, i presently intend to swap in a Dorman pan with a replaceable filter unless that raises alarms with the community. Hoping that the drain plug is placed a little more intelligently than the OEM.

btw, if there are any "tricks" or issues one doesn't discover with the trans fluid and filter job and/or the rotor and pad job, please so advise - i have learned to hate surprises.

Thank you so VERY much for your consideration, knowledge and expertise. I'd hate to fly back to VA and get a call about issues...

Best Regards,
Bruce
