tire/rim combo's
just saw a thread with a 285 70 r17 tire and a 2.5'' level kit. I thought a 285 tire could fill the gap but man was i wrong... I've been researching a combo since i bought my truck and no luck. looking for all black rims and a beefy tire, not mud tires more along the lines of a AT tire and i can't make up my mind. 17''- 18''- 20'' rim, cost does matter so i've been leaning more toward a 17'' rim cause the cost of the tires are cheaper. BUT when you look at a 17'' compared to a 20'' rim there is a big difference in the LOOK that i'm looking for, this SUCKS... anybody got pictures with a 17'' rim with a 295- 315 AT tire?

This site helped me a ton when I was looking. They have dozens of tire and wheel photos. I did not buy from these guys because my local 4 Wheel Parts store price matched them. But I did talk with them and they are awesome and i would recommend ordering from them. Great prices.

I leveled my truck with the Bilstein 5100 shocks and the 285/70/17s now look small. I wish I had went with a 315, or at least the 295. Honestly, I wish my truck didn't have 3.55 gears so I could move to a 35" tire after I install my RC 1.25" body lift.
How much did those Bilsteins level you? Ive got a 3" body kit and a 1.5" leveling kit and my 35" tires barely clear. In fact the actual measurement on my 35" ProComps is a bit smaller then most at 34.6" and if I was a half inch lower I would be rubbing bad.
The Bilsteins are adjustable in 5 settings: factory, TRX (.75), 1.4", 2.1", 2.8" (actual). I installed mine at 1.4", which didn't level my truck, but made it look much better. I didn't want to go any higher because of the reported vibration issues. 2.8" lift would probably be need to fully level the truck. I plan to install a RC 1.25" body lift in the next few weeks.

I would take your leveling kit off and try the 2.1" setting on the Bilsteins with your body lift.

Ive had no issues at all with the 1.5" Day Star leveling kit. Been on for about 20k miles not and its been great. The 3" PA body lift has also been awesome and fortunately because of Dodge's factory fender skirts you can't even tell its a body lift. The dealer has tried to get me a couple times thinking it was a suspension lift and ive had to tell them nope, just a body lift.
If your going to go with a body lift, why only go with a 1.5" body lift over the PA 3"? My body lift did not change the ride at all. However the 35" tires significantly improved it IMO.
