Default Passenger seat shake

anyone notice their passenger seat shakes alot when hitting small bumps and cracks on the road, not huge pot holes but normal highway cracks? I test drove a 09 sport with 60,000 miles and it did this so i thought it was just worn out being the truck was in rough shape ( i think it was a work truck) Now driving my new 2010 i noticed the seat shakes and some times enough to make a vibration noise.....

Yes, i do get a "squeek" from the passengar seat in certain situations on my 2010 Sport. Light pressure on the seat back stops it, so i know thats what it is, but the dealer has "checked" it a few times and it still continues.

My 2010 sport does it too! I push on the side of the seat to hold it still and it stops. I have been wanting to bring it into the dealership to get it checked out! Do yall have the ac seats? I have been thinking it might be the fan or something to do with the seat cooling system.

No the 09 I drove was cloth/ vinyl and my truck is leather/vinyl with heaters and coolers. If you drive down the highway put your hand between the seat back and console lightly, it shakes but hitting a bump makes it shake enough to make a noise. Mine may vibrate more cause of my vinyl lo pro qt topper shaking and I drive 130km/h too but still it shouldn't shake or make a noise when you hit a bump

Mine makes noise even at low speeds (30-40mph) over semi-rough surfaces. Like a chirping sound I guess. So are you saying that the noise is coming from the seat touching the console when we hit a bump?

On my way home from work it hit me that the jack is under the passenger seat. Maybe its the jack and plastic cover that's rattling!!!! Its not a chirping sound its more of a rattle. What do you guys think?

I dunno what's exactly making the noise but the seat shouldn't move side to side like that. I think its the seats movement making the noise. The seat needs some cross bracing in the frame to keep make it stiffer side to side.

hey guys it might be worth it for you to look at locking in your seatbelts front and rear when not in use..
i had a noise that was driving me crazy as well it turned out that the belts when idle were slightly banging the plastic interior between the doors and seat sides. youll notice that when they hang there the are close ...just food for thought when i saw this thread i had to sign on to see if i could help ... thanks

My '09 does it too. I thought it was from wear, but I don't have regular passengers in my truck. If anything, my seat should be the loose one. I'm a big guy and put more wear and tear on the driver's seat than any other seat. I'm gonna bring it in to the dealer.

Yah my noise is when the passenger seat belt buckle is flat against the seat the shaking seat slams the buckle against the b pillar, I have to reach over and turn it 90 degrees to sit beside the seat and its fine. These are my first buckets but they shouldn't shake that bad, all my others were the split bench. Maybe the shakings normal? As for squeeking, silicon spray the pivot points, they have probably widened a bit.
