how do i figure out what gen my truck is?
i reposessed a dodge 1500 4x4 with a 5.7 hemi in it. i have always heard some ticking in the rear end but now it is grinding. i tore the rear end down and the clutch pack was dissentergrated. the dealer wants 500.00 for a new set but i am hoping someone can tell me where to go to get the kit aftermarket. i am on a fixed income and cannot afford to pay dealer prices. my rear end is a corporate 9.25 with limited slip and the gear ratio is 3.92. i have just started in this forum group so if i am in the wrong place, sorry. thanks, danny

Generation doesn't matter. All of the Ram 9.25 track-lok diffs are the same.

help me again please
ok, first, thanks to all who sent me help on rebuilding my rear end. it went together great!!!!
of course there would be a however, so here goes......
after putting my truck back together last night (in the dark) i took it for a test drive around the block. there is now a whining sound coming from the rear end that changes pitch as i accelerate and goes away when i take my foot off the accelerator. when i go around a right hand curve it makes a kinda grinding noise. i noticed that when i put the truck into drive from park and after coming to a halt also that when i take my foot off the brake the truck does not roll forward. when i give it the gas it feels like something is holding it back.
my father in law undid the preload before i could mark it when we were tearing the rear end down. my question is this: could i have the preload set too hard and should i go back into the rear end and loosen it up half a turn or so? i dont have a guage to check for the back lash.
once again thanks to all who helped me out earlier.... hopefully ya'll can help me again
