$16k off MSRP on 2010's

Just received a flyer in the mail today from my local Dodge Dealer.

$16,000 off all 2010 Rams in stock.

Should I consider trading in my 2009 that has only 8,000 miles.

Why would you do that? You would loose the lifetime powertrain warranty, and they are certainly not going to give you much on trade if they are dropping 16K off the sticker of the new truck.

They will get you in the end if you trade. If you do that you have to find a private sale that has no clue.

My '09 purchase was a hastily done deal due the loss of a vehicle and the selection was poor at the time. There are a number of options that I wish I had on the '09 that I might find on a '10.

Doubt that I could make the numbers work on a new one versus upgrading the one I have though.

I would think that it would be slim pickings for a 2010 now. The dealer I bought mine from only has two left, and a bunch of 2011.

The salesman I bought from said people are paying more for the 2011 then buying the last 2010 as they are not to well equipt, and no one really wants them.

The dealer has one equipped with my desired options but after plugging in the numbers, my out-of-pocket cost to do the swap is about $2,000 more than adding the options to my '09.

Sounds like you pretty well have made up your mind.

If you want it, go for it.

Think about this to. How much have you put into your truck? Upgrades or accessories. I would loose about 4k if I traded mine in right now just off of that alone. Sure I could take some of the stuff with me but not much. They would have to give me one hell of a deal to get me out of my Truck. Now having said that I already have a 2010 that has everything I wanted so I couldn't be happier. One more thing you will probably add 1-2 years more of finaincing as well. Something to think about. Good luck with your decision.

Nope, the $2,000 price tag decided me otherwise.

That's the smartest choice.
