Everything worked on the evic as soon as I started up the truck. The 2011 would control everything, horn worked, just as normal, but the cruise control didn't work! I drove it like this for a while. Then I found a 2012 steering wheel with evic controls on the left side, installed it and now my cruise works but no horn or evic control. I never did get my computer flashed or wired up the bus deal. I thought well if I have seen both parts work then the computer shouldn't need to be flashed. I don't understand what to do next, wire up the bus deal or get computer flashed? Anyone have any ideas?

The 2012 wheel is the one you want. You need to add the RDZ code for steering wheel audio functions to work and you need to add XBG code and add a TPS module for the tire pressures to display. Here's a link thats shows the necessary wiring to get the horn to work https://picasaweb.google.com/1156511...83463502731970

Hey guys I did the EVIC upgrade in my 2011 Ram 1500 ST. I put in a new 730N RHR radio, EVIC cluster and steering wheel to control the EVIC. I bought a steering column on ebay as I couldn't find just the steering wheel and they are pretty expensive at the dealership. I wired everything as mentioned in this post to get the steering wheel controls working for the EVIC and the horn working. However now my Traction control light and airbag light are always on in my instrument cluster. I've looked every where and cannot find any information about this specific problem. I disconnected the negative battery cable when I installed everything and I tried the negative battery disconnect to try and reset the codes and lights on my dash. Is there any possibility I got a bad clock spring? Everything works the way it should but the lights are on. I'm assuming if everything works the clock spring is ok. The cover on the steering wheel does not seem to be ripped indicating a previous airbag deployment so again I'm assuming the airbag in the used steering wheel is ok. Anybody have information about this issue after doing the mod?

Thanks

You have to take it to the dealer to add VIN sales codes.

Just as an update, I tried wiring up the BUS deal and all it did was made my wipers come on with no control of them. And made cruise control not work. So I hooked it all back up normally. Were you guys "cutting those wires when hooking them up? Because mine all had wires where you guys said to hook them up.

I did this exactly, cutting the wires and running new ones from the two plugs of the cluster down to the one below the column. Is that the way you guys did it? Or am I supposed to splice into them?

Thanks

I can only speak for the 2010 year. I cut my wires under the steering wheel about 3 inches from the connector to the clockspring. Everything has worked for almost 2 years now. No regrets.

thank you for your response is there a chance you could take a picture of the wires you cut, and where you spliced them in at. the pictures posted look different than the wires I have under my dash. I have a 10 also.

Look at post 19 and 22 of this thread, there is a link to the pictures that will show you what wires to cut under the dash and what wires to spice into behind the cluster.

Make sure you do not cut the wires at the cluster these are to be sliced only.
