You guys looking for the ultimate truck...why not just install a new aluminum 426 crate motor for 14k and sell your 5.7? That would be much cheaper in the long run, not to mention it would increase the value of your current truck. And BTW, the 6.4 is capable of producing over 500hp without going into the engine and the 426 aluminum is capable of over 600 without going into the engine...WITHOUT going into the engine!

Cool video...awesome! But I think was thinking something more practical and a little safer to use as a daily driver, lol!

MMMMMMMMMMMMM Big Block you can always tell the sound of a big block. I think an issue that goes along with being paraplegic might be cured if someone put a 426 HEMI big block in my truck with headers and the right exhaust. I think the little guy might come to life when I heard that, at very least goose bumps would be happening!!!!LOL I sold my 72 chevy for only 12 G so I am only 2 g away might be an idea.

And I know people with 1000HP+ cars that are their daily drivers...

That my friends was a 588 blown hemi. I do believe he was running alcohol on that run too.

Your ideals of safe are vastly different from mine. I'm thinking that my 1997 will have around 900-1200 at the wheels and will still have street manners. Then again, it might become a track queen. Who knows.

That will be hard to do on pump gas with any 588 all the way up to a 636 Hemi and even with an 871 blower....at the wheels anyway. Alcohol motors run much cooler and have no water jackets, but they are definitely not streetable. Not to mention ...and to have the best of both worlds, you would be running a mechanical bird catcher or even a buzzard catcher with a blower which makes for a deadly and almost impossible streeter, he he! But I guarantee you...that truck is NOT streetable in any way shape or form. It's got to be 1500hp at the crank and 1200 at the wheels to run those times if the weight of 4500lbs is there. Now...when I say safe, I'm speaking for everyone here. IMO...there is NO such thing as a safe 1000hp vehicle on the road and I doubt there are many here including myself that would know how to handle such power because I've never been that far before and I know what 800hp at the crank can do, lol! There are plenty 1000hp drivers but they are turbo charged and all in need of race gas and lots of boost to get there...1000hp. Gen 11 hemis can do that on pump gas with blowers, but you don't see many of them...most are at around 1000 to 1200hp depending on the stroke and are about 30 grand turnkey. Anyway, a 1000hp motor is around 25k+ minimum and then you would need another 25k to make it safe. So I'd be happy with the new gen 111 aluminum 426 crate and feel very safe any where I went and I could still use it as a truck and be very fast. I raced cars, bikes and boats, all in the 1/4 mile and I know how I am and I would most likely kill myself because I need to feel the power every time I drove them. I came close to death so many times and airborne in my 100mph Allison boat and close on my Honda with 130mph wheel hop for one so I know the consequences. Those days are over for me...I want to live safe and longer so I quit running wild, lol! When I build my truck it will be able to safely handle anything I do with it, not only fast from 0 to 100 but just as important...from 100 to 0 fast, he he!

BTW...I just want to clarify something, I watch drag films to keep up with racing and belong to some drag forums where I am a NOVICE by their standards. That being said, a recent topic was brought up in one about the fastest known street legal Gen 111 Hemi which is Mr. Norms Challenger at the moment. "It is not the fastest street legal car". But to qualify for street legal all you need are the norms and you have to drive the car 30 miles, not lift the hood or add water, no pushing or adding gas and a few other simple things like that. The track rules vary from state to state but street legal or streetable can rightfully be taken way out of context. So Laramie's idea of streetable is perfectly legit by way of his experience with racing. He's just outside the box compared to the norm...maybe a little way outside, lol! Remember the vid with the kid flipping his Red SRT...if that would have been in a 1000hp truck, with his inexperience he'd most likely had killed himself and maybe someone else along with him. That being said...I want you guys to know that I'm not undermining Laramie's comments about his idea of safety because unlike most of you, he is experienced...prob a little on the crazy side but he seems to know what he's talking about, lol! EDIT: I changed that to seems to know...
