I installed a Volant CAI in my '10, took maybe 1/2 hour start to finish. Great sound, a little more responsive, but don't do it if you're looking for mileage.

My vote would be Volant to.Because it is the only aftermarket CAI I have owned.Had one on my 2005 Daytona 1500 4x4.Quality is excellent......Found better throttle response, but no gain in fuel economy.30-45 minutes to install.....

I have the AFE stage II intake on mine and I'm pretty happy with it. However, any claims of mileage increase with it are completely false. I gained some horse and torque out of it alright however, I lost almost a mile to the gallon and yes, I went a couple tanks of babying it to see how good of mileage i can get and it didn't really go up. So I said screw it, I didn't buy a truck for mileage and I love it.

Save yourself some money and buy the K&N Drop-in. You will get NO Better performance from a CAI than you would a drop-in. As I have said before most cars and trucks today are built to have the air intake away from the heat source. Tha CAI will put their housing at or near the same location as the stock.

I dropped in a K&N 63 Series CAI intake in my truck and I will not look back. No MPG increase (wasn't expecting a MPG increase) but the throttle response had a significant difference, it's definatly louder when you punch it from the 2500-3600 RPM range. Bought my K&N 63 Series CAI from http://www.autoanything.com/air-inta...A1916A0A0.aspx if you find it elsewhere for cheaper let them know and they will price match, and include free shipping.

I have the AFE stage II intake and got it for a good price. It was easy to install and the parts are of good quality. Have had it for almost a year now, no problems or issues. I like the fact that it is a dry filter that can be easily washed, needs NO oil. It has an amazing growl to it but I noticed NO mileage improvements at all. Previous to its install I had a K&N drop in which was an improvemnet over stock. The AFE pulls a tad better than the K&N drop in but I think its mostly due to the fact that the intake tube for the AFE is smoother and straighter than the stock one. Overall I am pretty happy with the AFE.

My opinion, I will never buy a closed box intake, get an open style intake for the most response and gains. I haven't had the Dodge on a dyno but been to a few dyno days with my F150 and the Volant closed airbox style intake had the least gains, better off just going with a high flow drop in and use the factory air box. Perhaps if you do a lot of city or town stop and go driving you want to stick with a closed box. There is plenty of cool air under the hood through the grill when you are moving. I have seen an 8 rwhp increase when they would turn on a 5 foot barrel fan in front of the dyno between pulls.
