Default Hail Damage-My Hood is screwed up! Time to upgrade?

I have an '09 Ram that I drive every day. I had it backed in to my parking spot at my apartment last night. This morning about 1/2 an hour before my alarm went off it hailed golf ***** for about 5 minuets. The hood of my truck looks like some one attacked it with a hammer. Its hard to tell from the cell phone picture I took in the parking lot at work but... my poor truck got it good this morning.

I am more than likely going to call the insurance company and turn it in but they are calling for more severe weather tonight so... I figured I should wait until the morning.

I have been very tempted to switch to an R/T hood or even something with functional ram air (going to upgrade to a CIA soon).
What do you guys think, Should I take this opportunity to upgrade? If so what is out there for the 4th Gen Ram 1500's?

I had that happen to me back in '06 with a hail storm, which dented my '05 Ram's hood. The body shop cut me a deal on an SRT-10 functional hood at cost, which came close to regular cost of a replacement hood paid via insurance.

In other words, UPGRADE TIME! LOL

a few years back, i was in an accident, not my fault, i switched to an SRT-10 hood. I paid the difference in price. I came across a sweet deal on ebay, so it only cost me a few hundred extra

Get a Challenger hood. The aluminum hood probably cost less and you will be doing the insurance a favour.

Just happened to me 2 weeks ago. My brand new 2011 Laramie. Only had it 5 weeks, hadn't even made the 1st payment on it yet. Thought I was going to be sick when I saw it. Ended up costing 3600 to fix it, thank God for insurance.

We had hail here the other day but it was small, no damage to the truck. If it had left any dents I would have definately gone for a new, sportier hood even if it cost me a few bucks out of pocket.

Thanks for the help guys, I am going to call the insurance company today on lunch.

I got behind the plant manager in traffic yesterday. He called me as soon as I got in this morning. Said he knew it was me by the way the sun reflected off my truck, said it looked all dimply. LOL.

I hit the windshield washer this morning and one of them is WAY off. I am very tempted to go with the Challenger or the SRT10 hood. You guys have given me a very good idea!

Good luck getting a Challenger style hood. From my contacts at dealers locally, the supply is low and they are on backorder. Just what I heard.
