More MPG
Guys, I am new and am registered as WJA. Have learned some stuff here in my short time aboard....I drive a 2009 1500 CC Hemi 4X4, and am wondering if anyone has experience with the GF chip? A friend sells most chips, but not that one, and he says none of his (most known brands) will help MPG on Hemi with MDS system....

Scam, joke, yields no power gains and most people who bought it reported major MPG LOSSES due to the fact it caused a CEL.
The people who sell this thing which is basically a $2 resistor are making a mint since gas went thru the roof and people in panic mode are shelling out money for this thing.
Most reviews by people who bought it not only report poorer results than before they installed it, but also reported that they were unable to return it for a refund due to loopholes in the company's return policy...
Review by an independent performance site (keep in mind here that a score of 1 is the worst you can give):
Ordering Process: 1/5
Shipping Speed: 1/5
Customer Service: 1/5
Return Policy: 1/5
Average HP and Torque Gain: 1/5 (For each vehicle tested we noticed a loss of 8-15 HP)
Average MPG Gain: 1/5 (We notice huge losses in MPG. These varied from 3-10 MPG.)
Cost of product: $69.00
NOTE: We did notice an engine knock after using this chip. We do not recommend this chip.
You own a heavy truck, with an engine making almost 400 HP at the crank, poor gas mileage is a way of life! Best thing you can do is keep it properly tuned up, use synthetic fluids wherever you can and maintain proper tire inflation.
A lot of guys say that the Prius DD mod works pretty well, nets about 50 mpg, but it's a fairly pricey mod they say...

Yep, keep the tires as hard as possible, usually about 10% over manufacturers recommendation, and pretend there is a raw egg between your foot and the gas pedal.
Try to avoid braking, by paying attention to stoplights up ahead, adjust your speed so you can sail right thru them - try to accellerate when going downhill, and gradually let off on the throttle when on an uphill.
Watch that little mileage indicator in the EVIC, and try to keep it above 20MPG at all times.
Avoid idling, whenever possible -
Yeah, I know it's hard!

Mine has only been above 20MPG once, and that was when my dad helped me move furniture and he drove it for a long highway trip. Mine is usually around 16MPG on the EVIC. And I drive mostly on back-country roads. Am I just a crappy/lead-foot driver?

I agree with all points, except the 20MPG on the EVIC part. Are you talking about the Hemi?

You gotta watch that little floating bar on the bottom, the one that shows you instantaneous MPG, ---- you should even see it touch 30 once in awhilec...... pay attention to it... Whenever it's below 10, you know you are doing something wrong..... LOL
I averaged over 20 MPG, for a 1500 mile drive home, when it was brand new. Best tank was around 28, believe it or not (first 300 miles).....

re: fuel
What year is yours? I have a 2009 and do not have or have not ever seen instantaneous mpg, only the average.
For a pickup I am fairly pleased with the mpg especially on the highway. It is easily 2 mpg better than my 06 F-150 that had far less fun of a motor. Basically if you can control your accelleration that will go a long way to improving mileage.
