Default Ram Air Hood comments/concerns

So I will be heading home from Afghanistan in about a month and I am dead set on ordering the APM ram air hood.. I have heard the ram air isn't going to do much but i figure if i'm going to buy the hood then I might as well get the airbox to make it work.. I have searched threads and have read alot of opinions from those that don't have it but I would like to hear from those that have it. Or maybe knows someone that has it and has heard their opinion.. I have a company talked down to $1500 for option 4 (which is a painted hood with the airbox). I have only seen a few pictures of trucks with it. The blue one, a red one and a grey one.. Thanks in advance for anyone that chimes in..

The only thing I would be worried about is how it fits. I have seen after market hood with horrible gaps. That is why the only one I would get is the mopar one.

That's the kind of info i'm hoping to get from this thread.. I read that the fit on these are suppose to be great but would really like to hear from someone that has one or at least has seen one in person.. it's hard to see stuff like that in a picture unless it's a straight on shot..

One thing I've heard people say about getting aftermarket hoods is to not have the company you are buying it from paint it. The reason being is because they'll paint it to factory color but it might not exactly match the color of your truck whereas if you take it someone to get painted with your truck, that shop should match the color as close as possible for the best results.

That's a good point.. They guarantee the paint to match vehicles up to 3 years old and have a one year warrantee on the paint as well. They tell you to open it and inspect it for flaws before you sign for it. And if there are any to just not sign for it and send it back. I'm not sure how much a local shop would charge to paint it. I haven't looked into that. Any ideas? I am going to get 2 1/2 in fender flares also. I had planned on leaving them black though..
