Default My Sat afternoon project, LEDs for the bed.

Here's a pic at night of my bed with the new LEDs. I attached it to the 12v power coming from the 7pin trailer plug. I added an inline fuse and switch. I have a Bakflip so I stuck the LED strip to the bottom of the rails for it. Came out looking great.

Looks slick! Bright white I assume? (just by looking at the pics!)

I might have been a little weary of hooking into the trailer plug, but it is LED so power consumption is way down! I don't know the exact consumption of these LEDs but I would hope that it would not put that circuit for the trailer over its limits. You don't want to loose your trailer lights or anything without knowing!

But I guess you wont be driving and trying to get into the bed anyways HAHA...

No it looks slick! Ive considered doing something like that when I get my Rolback G2 in, I might go blue tho!

Thanks. It should look sweet in blue. I measured it and it was only 2 amps. It should be fine.

Cool I have a 2.5 amp capability on a 12V extra wire coming from my lockpick so I could get the power from there I wish I would have run that extra wire like I was gonna and just leave it unhooked for future but no silly me will have to run another I guess I should do it before the re oil spray or maybe after and see what the job they do. I would have less since I only intended to run a few leds not a complete line of them, not in my need category.

YA you will be alright, I just didn't know how low it was going to be, cause there are a lot of LEDS on that string, I figured about 3-4 amps, but 2 you will be fine...

I've been running a small 3000# ATV winch from the 7 pin trailer plug for 2 yrs now, and never had a problem with my boat trailer lights. Don't know what the amp draw is, but it's a Harbor freight winch, so you know it probably draws more amps than any winch on the planet. Those LED's can't hurt you---light em up!!

Gonna do the same thing on mine here soon. I have a Backflip F1 cover and will probably mount the same way yours is. I work in the interior lighting business and was going to implement our technology. I think I can light my entire bed up nicely with only 3 LED's, using acrylic light pipes with optics. I'll post pics when I finally get around to doing it.

Looks good as long as no serious hauling is required. Would look better with a bed rug.
