I don't think there is a (down) hill around here long enough to see THAT number!
I am in Canada too, mine was advertised @ 25mpg. (I still have the window sticker) If that is to a 4.5L gallon, it is really close to my actual 19-20mpg highway I get to a 3.8L gallon. Still not quite there though.

Mine has been off since the beginning by almost a full MPG. With that said it seems to be more accurate in cooler weather.

I apologize for bumping an old thread, but how the EVIC (and similar gadgetry in other vehicles) calculates mpg has always been something of a mystery to me, especially since it's operated by engine vacuum. I've only had my 2010 for a week and I can tell you the EVIC number is very optimistic, by approx 10%.

And this 32-gallon tank...... Judas Priest! - at current prices ($3.35) it's a Franklin for a full-up. I can hardly wait for $4 a gallon gas again.

The longer you let it average the better it gets. That being said mine is consistantly 1mpg off of hand calculation if I reset it at the tank. As for your 32 gallon tank, I wish I had one - I do a lot of driving and the extra 6-7 gallons would be nice.

I see about 19.5 actual mpg in solid hwy driving this time of year - heading to and from ski racing each week. (3.21 gears at 72 mph for 50 miles each way straight on flat land)

My 2010 has a 3:55 screw. With consistent highway driving at 70 (+/- 5 mph) in southeast Texas where the land is flat as a pancake. I see about the same as you on the EVIC, 19.5 but with 369 miles on the tank it took 21.5 gals to top it off and my wallet was $72 lighter.

Still 17+ mpg is 5.5 mpg better than I was getting with my old '97 Ram (318) so I ain't bitchin'. I look upon the EVIC numbers as 'relative' and you can impress your friends showing them the number, knowing full well it's false.

You Americans should not be bitching yet, we have been paying 1.20 on average for 3 years on 87 octane fuel. X3.8l/gallon that's 4.56/gallon. 89 is 1.25 on average that's 4.75/gallon.

Yay for OPEC!! Friggin joke!!

The EVIC mpg is NOT "certified", so dont get to excited when the numbers aren`t what you wanna see.
Personally, i wish they wouldnt put such stupid things like this in vehicles, they`re misleading on ALL vehicles.
The technology and time & money they wasted with it could have been used in other problem areas that needed it.

Well, it's a 'bauble' that probably cost next to nothing in engineering time while giving the customer another trinket with the perception of some value to it when in fact the display is only relative at best. The only true numbers are those derived using basic math: Distance/quantity and even the result will vary depending on traffic conditions, weather, speed and terrain. (and sometimes even the fuel)
