Tint cost more than expexted$
I had my windows tinted the other day, and started to experience symptoms of a TIPM going bad. Water had infiltrated a module in the door panel. From the Tint Job.
When tint is applied, soap solution is sprayed heavily on the inside of the window to allow the tint to move around while applying. During this process, lots of water can drip down into the inside of the door panel and get on components.
I would get the repairs done and make the tint shop pay for damages caused. You have a legitimate small claims court claim...haha that sounds funny. Anyways, the tipm won't go bad for a module in the door. the tipm is located unde the hood and has saftey features from allowing other electronics to burn the tipm out. When the tipm goes bad, it's it's own fault, not another modules fault. The tipm may shut off circuits associated with that module to protect against hazards. The bad door module would need to be replaced and the tipm "re-configured" or reset and all will be good. the tipm can only be reset 5times before it's a paper weight even if it's still 'good", it cannot be reset more than 5times.
Yeah I took the module out of the door and you can see in two of the plug-ins that it was wet turned green and a little rusty. Its funny the whole dash was lit up with lights and the wipers woudn't shut off, all because a module in the door was grounding out.
by the way that "door module" $70 at Carquest.
also going rates in Burley Id. for TIPM
Dodge dealer: $602
Carquest: $575 - $75 core.

So I had this same problem (dash lights freaking out, wipers stuck on, gauges not working then working, lights flashing on and off, radio turning on and off weird stuff) and thanks to someone leading me to this thread I pulled my door panel off and in that same door module you speak of I found water still in the plugs even after 3 days... I used a shop vac to suck out as much as I could then used an air chuck to blow everything dry (very thoroughly) and plugged everything back in and I haven't had a problem since... but that was about 3 hours ago.. hopefully everything stays fine. That was definitely the problem though, window guy let too much water drip down into my door into the right spot. glad I didn't have to buy a new part so far..
Good luck with small claims, that's more time lost than its worth. I would definitely go talk to Em. Anytime you get ting done in cold weather you need to leave the heat on for a solid day. I ran an extension chord and small heater out to my truck every night for a few days to help the curing process.
Good luck
