Hey everyone, new to the forumn 0/... I just got a 09 TRX4 and would like to give the hemi a little more umphffff, is there any cheaper upgrades i can do to it while i save for the expensive stuff lol, i was looking at chips, but is it worth is to do that or just save for a superchip? would like to also give the sound a bit more aggression. anyone recommending anything would be great!!!

 

K&N Drop in filter is a cheap and easy upgrade. I put one in mine, can't say what benefits I get but others say he does give you more of a growl which it does seem to do.

 

a programmer from superchips or diablo or bullydog will give you the biggest performance increase for the money. Asking about a muffler will start a huge debate on here but the general knowledge leans toward flowmaster being junk, magnaflow will give you more growl but you will get drone unless you go with a 24" shell, I personally started with magnaflow and then upgraded to a db catback made by corsa since i couldn't stand the drone anymore.

 

Okay here's my list for yah w/ prices... I'll add some cheap non performance mods which look better)

1) B-Pillar black tape removal (if your truck is black it doesn't have the thick black vinyl tape) - $$Free!

2) Window Tint - $200(ish) depending where you go.

3) Exhaust: I am currently running Magnaflow Stainless Cat Back Exhaust w/ 5" double walled stainless tips and a free flow y-pipe. This is a pricey mod but I love it! - $530(If you do your research you can find it cheaper.)
Or go w/ a drop in exhaust muffler and have it welded in. I'm not going to tell you which brand to buy it'll start another damn war in these threads. Do your own search on you tube and listen to the different sound clips. (Magnaflow, Borla, Cherry Bomb, RustMaster aka FlowMaster)

4) Go w/ a tuner if you really want to wake your HEMI up, it's one of the few mods that can really power it up. I added Superchips, read up on it and pick for yourself....everyone here will offer there reason on a brand to buy. Just buy what fits your needs. - $350-$600

5) CAI - I'd stay away honestly, I put it in my truck pulled it out and sold it, noticed zero difference besides and louder growl under the hood. From the *** DYNO it felt like I lost a lot of low end torque. Pulled it out and put in a drop in filter and called it good.

It's the black tape between the front and rear doors. I removed mine bc I have 5% limo tint and the two shades of black I didn't like.

Also another cheap mod is a stubby antenna...pep-boys $12(ish)

 

Wonder if this B pilar stuff is the same for the 2012....I have the black strip but love the look of the colored B pilars.

i have the antenna , I replaced my filter with the k&n and I I notice the difference in the performance, my old filter must not have been replaced recently because it was a big difference when i put my foot on the petal, thanks for the tips, be savin up for that SC programmer

I'm pretty sure it's identical to the 2009.. I haven't seen a 12 upclose, so I can't confirm.
