The trailer is a flat nose not a V nose. Total weigh of trailer and equipment is 8-9k. No WDH, I have thought of getting one just haven't done it yet.

Not sure on the rear end, could not find it on the sticker, where would I look for this info.

I'm at almost 10k miles. Also, it is a 4x4.

Pulling the enclosed in town I'm getting about 7mpg. I have got 18-20 on the hwy empty with the cruse set at 60-65 mph. Average for all miles driven seems to be about 9mpg. This is hand calculated well before 10k miles, I need to check it again.

I really do love my truck, I will try to post some pics when/if I have time. It's a white crew cab, SLT, 4X4.

I traded a 08 with a Cummins for this truck. The Hemi has more than enough grunt to do what I need it to do I just wish I get a little better mpg.

Thanks
You can't even get that when empty without towing on the highway! Bare bones truck I'm talking about. That's 2wd mileage right there.
My window sticker says 13/17 and I have a 1500 with MDS. Once I turned off MDS, best I ever got not towing on highway was 16. You have a 2500 which is much heavier. No way you see greater than 16. I seriously doubt 09+ get that much better than my '08. Same engine, little more hp and that's it.
Best highway mpg's I ever got pulling an empty V-nose 14' tandem axle trailer(2100#'s empty) was 14mpg. Best I ever got pulling the same 14' trailer flat front(standard) was 12mpg....empty. The v-nose netted me 2mpg on the highway. Pulled much easier.

I think your confusing your CTD mpg's with your gasser. It will NEVER get the same mpg as your diesel did when towing.

You have to remember though dirtydog, this is a newer hemi then yours. Granted it is still a 5.7, but computers are being upgraded, etc: that all allow for a much better fuel consumption. Not to mention the new trannies. I had an 07 before my 11, you would be surprised at the mileage increase IF DRIVEN PROPER. This is one of the reasons I upgraded. NOW I cannot see him getting 20mpg, but I can see him getting 16-18 EMPTY. Probably more towards the lower end because its a 2500. It all depends on where he is driving, how hes driving, and his speed. As far as mileage on the highway without towing, I do 22-24mpg if I set it at 110kms/h and just cruise on the 4 lane. Granted I drive in alberta where it is pretty flat, so MDS is on at least half the time. Not to mention I do own a 2011, but I am sure even the 2012s do a few MPG over mine. I pull our 30' holiday trailer, which nets to around 8000lbs if all the tanks are full. When I pull that I am doing 12mpg, this is pulling at 100kms, and mostly highway.

Having said all this, I know that whenever I drive in the city that MPG drops BIG TIME! OR whenever I drive over 110kms/h. Which is not a big deal cause thats the max speed on our 4 lanes here. The gas just sucks back then. Not trying to start a fight or anything, but there are possibilities.

This is not the only forum where I've seen guys with the new 2012 2500 Hemi trucks with 6 speed and the 3.73 rear end claiming 18 mpg on the highway driven at responsible speeds. Most drivers are claiming 13 mpg averages. So it wouldn't surprise me if 16 to 18 is entirely possible on flat to rolling terrain and speeds kept below 65 mph.

The empty hwy mpg's I posted were what the computer on the truck said, not hand calculated. I'm not nearly as concerned with that as I am with pulling the trailer in town.

I will try to hand calculate the empty hwy mileage one day when I have time.

I will say this, where I live there are no hills and I was being very easy on the shinny pedal.

Nice!! Looks like my trucks twin. Only difference is mine has fog lights and cab clearance lights. I wanted to post pics of mine but I'm not sure how on here.

Did you change your mirrors? They look different in the two pics.

One thing I have found that I don't like about my truck. The sun reflecting off the chrome around the center console is blinding at times. Oh well, I can live with it to have a gorgeous truck. lol
