From what I hear once you throw a tuner on the new cummins, it opens them right up! Might be wrong on that one, but I would be curious if someone else could chime in on that. I am considering a 2500 with the cummins as my next trade instead of the 2013 1500. With it being a possible new work truck, I think the diesel might be better. I will tow a little more then I do now, not to mention from what I hear too is it does not matter how you drive it, you still get the same mileage. But man if it only hits 11MPG, I will stick with the hemi cause I do that now towing...

I don't know much about diesels, but I am under consideration of upgrading to one if work calls for it. Do they have this hyrdoboost too? Or do they use something totally different?

Until you remove the DPF and EGR with a delete kit your mpg wil suck and you will have issues. I did the H&S delete kit on my 2008 6.7 cummins and yes I got much better mpg like 18 to 19 mpg empty, but you the void your power train warranty and it is illegal to do this for on road highway use. The stock tranny in these trucks suck to. If you get a manual it has a Dual mass fly wheel which is complete junk with a big diesel motor, and will not last on a stock truck let alone a deleted ot tuned truck. The auto 68rfe sucks to, so if you delete you will be on the hook for any power train repair bills. Trust me I had to spend over $3K on my G56 after I deleted it and that was only using the 60 Hp tune.

One word for he new 6.7 diesels JUNK. Buy a used 5.9 if you need a diesel and be done with it. They are much better.
