OK - looks like the gear ratio is only on the window sticker if it is something other than the stock 3.55
That my be but if so they only have the "stock" ratios. Which means they knew they had none with the gears I asked for. As far as my driving sucks, you ound like the wise a-- service mgr there.
Well, its either that or there is something wrong with your truck. What kind of mileage do you get unloaded?
I'm not going thru all that again. The tranny was screwed up. Mileage is not the issue. The idiot service mgr said I was supposed to lock it in 4th gear when I tow. I tried to explain to the moron 1? it wouldn't lock in ANYTHING. 2/ at 65-70 even with the 3.55 it turns over 3000 rpm, about 10 mpg, maybe towing 4500. Trans NOW works, it WILL let you chose the highest gear, which I use 5th (6th speed tranny). 65 MPH about2000-2100 rpm, not bad.But not sure of tow mileage now, to me letting off the gas, getting behind a big truck and looking at the computer mileage is NOT how you check mileage. Townig before with tranny shifting from 5 to 6 to 4 to 5, every 4-5 miles, over 30 times from FT Pierce To Edgewater, bout 150 miles, it got just about 9mpg. What does it do now? I don't know, I only towed boat about 10 miles, thats not a true test.
Empty" Coming home from Savannah running 80-90, yes, 80-90 3 hrs or more, 18.5 mpg. I call that excellent mileage. Maybe the 3.55 gears ARE best for me, isn't that what the lower gears in the tranny are for? Like I said, the big thing that upsets me is the dealer didn't give me the gears I want and the service mgr obviously doesn't know squat about the 6 speed. Plus the fact no one from the dealership would call me back. I still kinda would like to know what it would do with 3.92 gears. I will say I have noticed a difference in different brands of gas, which I never thought I would say.
Thank you for your interest old jeep, I mean that. I'm sorry if I was hard on you, friends????? Didn't notice where you live but if within 30-40 miles of Daytona, I'd like to buy you a coffee, you and anyone else in the area.
Take this for what you think it is worth. In my experience over the last many many years of buying new vehicles, I have learned that, as has been said before, salesmen either don't give a ****, or they don't take the time to learn about their product. IMHO--right or wrong, it is the responsibility of the consumer to do their research before buying a vehicle. The more you know about the vehicle the better off you will be and the less disappointed you will be with your vehicle when you find out that the salesmen either lied to you or didn't know the answer to your question and just guessed at the answer. Sometimes it's an expensive lesson to learn but sadly it's just how it is. There are exceptions to this but if you find a good salesman, that is truely a professional, you better be really nice to him---they are a dying bred.

Well I've bought "Many new vehicles in the last several yrs also" Even though Ford gave me a hard time financing me and I walked across the street and got a better deal at Dodge AND they got me financed thru a company that turned me down at Ford. To my knowledge the salesmen at Ford have NEVER lied to me. I ask a question, if they didn't know they found out. Tell me , how do you suggest I should of done my "Homework" on the Dodge rear gears. They were NOT on the window sticker. I don't think its asking too much to expect a salesman to be able to deliver when I ask for a low end tow gear, that I did NOT want hi range road gears. Also, if I owned the dealership and received TWO calls asking me to call back, I would. So, expensive lesson to learn? No expense here, the truck works fine now that the tranny is doing what its supposed to but I will NEVER have any service done, nor will I buy another vehicle from this dealer. I'll be in the market for a Dakota sized truck for my company and wife wants to trade her 2010 Taurus and wants something other than a Ford but it won't be at THAT dealer where they lie, owner AND service Mgr. refuses to return calls, even when asked by customer service. So who's the loser here? theres2 other Dodge dealers I know of within 20 miles of where I'm sitting now.
