has anyone taken the chrome cover off of the door handles on their Ram before? it came from the factory with the chrome cover and looks like it is adhered on. im trying to black out my truck and was thinking about taking it off... but im not sure what its going to look like underneath it when i take it off. any one ever done this before?

I have a Sport model with nothing to visually examine. However just running a quick search, it shows the Mopar chrome handles (Accessories '09-Current) install using/pre-applied with automotive grade adhesive. Likely you're correct about the adhesive, but if I had to guess what is behind the handle would think it's just the flat black plastic (standard) handle. I wouldn't think it was color matched like the Sport models are.

Gonna be 3m double sided tape holding them on. The tape might be a little chore to remove and you might even break the chrome covers removing them. The surface of the door handles should be the same as all others. Mildly rough black plastic look. Same as your mirrors and if those are covered as well, then take a peek at your lower valence on your front bumper. It'll be that texture and look(if 4th gens have those like 3rd Gen?)
