Default 2010 TRX4 V8 exhausts

Just wondering what everyones opinions are when it comes to nice loud rumbling exhausts for the TRX4? I've been looking around and heard good vids on youtube with the borla, cherry bomb and magnaflow.. What do you guys like and why? Also, what exhausts drone and how to overcome it? Still pretty new to this truck and coming from an Acura TSX to a Ram now I have no idea about exhausts haha

Hey Kody,

I was in a similar situation that you are in about 8 months ago. I Own a 2010 Dodge Ram TRX4 Hemi Crew Cab. I wanted a better exhaust, but definitely not to much that the drone was going to kill me. I have had Flowmasters in the past, and I have had cherry bombs as well.. They sounded awesome, but it was always that drone that just killed me. I did a lot of YouTube searching for sound clips, but they only do so much. So I have a buddy that owns a muffler shop and I went to him for advice. He told me that all of them sounded great! The Hemi is a stupid powerful engine that makes a beautiful symphony with an exhaust. He told me though that the only muffler that was going to give you the balance of both worlds (tone and no drone) was going to be the Magnaflow 22" and 24". I took his advice, and boy was he right. It sounds amazing, absolutely NO DRONE on the inside, and you cannot tell when the Engine shuts off 4 of the cylinders (I was really worried about that). I have read horror stories about people saying that they put an exhaust, and when the 4 Cylinders turn off, it sounds like a freaking ricer. Not at all. The only time that I have heard some drone, was when I towed a 10,000lb Bobcat about 600 miles with 3 other people in the Truck. (BTW, Power was never an issue, I still had the ability to pass cars with ease going 70 MPH). Anywho off of personal experience, I would say go with either a 22" or 24" Magnaflow. The 22" is just going to be a little bit louder. Let me know if you need anything else!

Wow man, thanks a lot! Very helpful reply, I noticed you had dual exhaust did you buy the magnaflow like that? My TRX4 only has one when stock. Sorry I'm pretty new at this stuff, when you say muffler did you mean the whole exhaust or just the muffler? And did you go with the 22" or 24"? I'll probably go with the 22" because I'd like it to be a little on the louder side

I went with the 22" muffler and it was all done custom. I did not buy the kit from Magnaflow. I prefer to have all exhaust work done custom. Yes, the muffler will be the piece that outlets into dual exhaust, it works on a Single in, dual out setup.
