Default new toyo open country a/t ! just installed....

well, i finally got some new tires on the truck. i was basically at the wear bars on the stock good years. got 40k out of them with a little life left if you really wanted to push it. (truck is listed in sig below)

so i went with toyo open country a/t. 275/65/20 (stock 275.60/20)

all i can say so far is these things are living up to the positive hype i have read online. they are heavier than stock, (50ish lbs per tire). taller than stock by 1". and obviously more aggressive. i have only driven about 40miles on them so far, but mixed highway and city.

noise: honestly not really noticeable on the highway. i do have a 14" magnaflow but that doesnt drone to bad either. they are actually pretty quite for how aggressive the tread is.

feel: compared to my stock , basically bald road tire it was noticeable. but actually was not that bad. steering wheel doesnt vibrate, the truck doesnt track.
ive had it up to 85mph and had no issues.

overall im happy with the look, and everything about the tire. hopefully ill have another good update down the road. since its the third vehicle i dont log a ton of miles on it anymore. (thank God)

40k, isn't that pretty good, especially on 4 wheel drive?

I would be interested in seeing a picture of your truck. My tires are close to the end and I was thinking of going to 275/65r20 also. What can you say the 1" extra has done to your gas mileage and gearing? I have the 3.92 gears and am very happy with the way it can carry up hills without downshifting so I am leery about messing with the stock setup.

Thanks.

sorry guys, ill get some up on sunday i promise. ive been working like crazy lately. no days off in 20.

well, my truck specs are in my signature. i have 3.55 rear. i run superchips premium gas performance tune, better muffler etc. im hoping worst case i will lose ONLY 1-2mpg at most. ill track my mileage for results. only problem is it might take me a while. since i dont drive it very often lately. its my 3rd vehicle so the mileage wont kill me....

I'm running the Open Country AT's in a 35x11R18 and love them. Actually haven't lost much mileage at all, maybe .5mpg with a Superchips. Congrats on the new goodies!

I'm brand new to DF but have been looking at new tires and having really enjoyed all of the info I have gotten off of this forum. I was just curious if the new tires were the OC A/T II? Seems as though these tires are fairly new and I haven't seen many pics with them on. Thanks
