A $2000 increase in MSRP for the Laramie. I think I'll be looking for a 2012.

Just so everyone knows, if you have not read the Press release that BadStrat has posted which can also be found on the Home page of the forum....
The v8's will NOT be getting the new 8spd auto until after midyear 2013. This is so they can "use up" existing inventory. The V6's will get the 8spd right away so they can get their claim to fame mpg's.
Also, I wonder how many useable gears while shifting there are? Because the current "6spd auto" isn't really a 6spd because there are 2 choices for 2nd gear. 2nd and 2nd-prime for downshifting as a passing gear or use with light throttle on acceleration. So, you have the same 3rd and final gear ratio's and never truley hit 6 different gears on the way up. The choiced for the 545rfe which they call a 6spd...545rfe(is a 5spd hence the 5) anyways, choices are 1-2-3-4-5 and 1-2nd-Prime-3-4-5. Only 5 up speeds and 5 downspeeds. Chrysler is deceptive.
I bet the 8spd is the same way with a 3rd Prime and 4th Prime gears, rather than 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8. You'll prob get 1,2,3,4,5 with 2nd-prime, 3rd-prime and 4th prime for "alternate" gearing combo's. Should be considered deceptive advertisement if this is the case??

I have a 2012 2500 with the Hemi and all 6 forward gears in it's new tranny are used unlike the 1500's. Same thing with the new 8 speed.
With 3.91's and the new super low first gear (4.71 vs 3.00), the 2013 truck ought to really get up and go! Actually, the rear end may come with a higher ratio since the new 1st (with the 8 spd) is so low.
