Agreed, the loyalty will like change. Especially down the road when most aftermarket parts require custom tuning, those manufactures will likely withdraw as well too. What good is a aspirated or built part if the demand is not needed due to heavy encryption codes by Chrysler. I hope Ford and GM don't follow suit.
I understand the reasoning, however it's also the owners responsibility to properly maintain as well as their right to choose what performance options they prefer, warranty or not. If Chrysler wants subject their newer model vehicles to stricken performance options with loyal customers frustrated and switching brands, that's the "consequences" they may face.
