Just a Curious little thought...
So, I have been looking into trading up for a Cummins, from my 2011 Sport. Some of you might have already read this somewhere else, but I can get into a new 2012 fully loaded Laramie Crew for just over 50 Grand. I get whats called an Air Canada deal so it turns a regular MRSP of 73 Grand into around 52. Problem is the banks are being dumb, and I still owe around 32 Grand on my sport (which they are only giving me 28 for) Another problem is I was sucked into buying the life and disability insurance which throws another 7 grand on top of whats owing, and I am only getting around 4 grand back. Banks won't approve me, STUPID!
Anyways, just a little background there, but I know of guys here from Canada go down south to pick up trucks. They say they like it because you guys don't have as much salt down there, and the price of the truck is much cheaper. Which I don't hesitate to disagree on.
Now a question to you US of A guys (HA) Is if I were to come down to buy a new Cummins, would I still in fact get the "Air Canada" Deal? Or how does my 52 grand compare to a brand new one in your area?
I realize that it might be a problem with banks, but thats what loans are for. The only issue now is I can't seem to find anyone to take over payments, or give a cash offer anywhere close to what I need to come close to paying off the lean on the truck.
Kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place right now, but just curious to see if in fact it might be cheaper to get a truck from down there then it would be up here...
Thanks in advance all...

I was in Regina before I bought my 2011 Cummins and I swung through the dealership and the sticker prices scared me to death! The sticker prices are much lower down here. Depending on how far you are north of the border, take a trip down here to look on the lot. Whats your closest US town? Montana I'm assuming so let me know and I can tell you which dealers to avoid. I don't know anything about the dealership in Cut Bank, I hate the dealership in Havre and have good an bad with Lithia in Great Falls but thats where I would head just for selection. (And they have a Sonic)
Back in 2000 I imported a pickup from Canada (when the exchange rate was so high) but I don't know the process in taking one north. I'm sure they can answer all of those questions on your side when you go through.
And I don't know anything about the Air Canada deal so I think you'll be giving that up but if the sticker prices are lower down here, that makes it a wash.

I am about 5 hours, depends on which way you go. I live just north of calgary, so for me to take a trip down and look at prices is a little bit steep.
I thought maybe a few of you guys who live down there could just slam up some average numbers and I could go from there.
