Default Do they make 2012 20" Clad covers paint to match?

I like my new wheels, but have to go back to black. No plastic dip stuff, I prefer base coat/clear coat. I thought about doing the duplicolor black chrome paint to the plastic chrome covers, just not sure how it would turn out.

Does anyone know if you can buy a set that are paint to match covers and who manufactures the covers?

I have not seen any. In addition getting the old ones off and leaving a clean smooth surface will be next to impossible. I have see these wheels (older ones) that were abused and broken. Big time glue holding them on.

I found a link that someone stated, removing the covers was no problem, just had to hit it the glue areas with the DA.

Only bummer... is, with the covers removed the wheel underneath doesn't have the same appearance as the covers. The center portion looks different.

I am impressed they did not break the covers getting them off.

I'm still tossing around the idea on how to paint my plastic chrome wheel covers a black base coat /clear coat. Has anyone attempted this yet?

I have painted chrome covered plastic before and if you do the prep properly it will hold up fine. Thoroughly sand w/ 600 grit wet sandpaper and prime and then base coat and clear coat and you will have what any other painted wheel has. I did it to a grill shell several years ago and when I sold the car it was still perfect.

Thank you! I will try this method and take one more step, and add adhesion promoter just for insurance. How many coats of clear do you suggest?
