Default Surface rust on new Rams?

Title says it. Anybody here having this so called "rail" rust? They say it's from being shipped on trains...

It is particles on your paint surface that is rusting, not the truck itself. I never bought the rail dust thing, especially on a truck which has been cleaned several times after delivery. So what is it, or at least my theory

1. Brake dust (metalic pads)
combined with
2. Lack of maintenance (IE not washing by hand and keeping surface free of particles).

I have never had this issue with any of my trucks even though I live in NW Ohio. I do keep my truck clean in the winter just like summer. I also keep enough wax on it that the surface is "slippery". On my other trucks I also replaced my pads with ceramics, although I have yet to do so on my 12.

How about a 2010 with the box rotting thru for the SECOND time....!!!!! ($45K Truck...!?!?!)
It was repaired VERY poorly by the local dealer here, only lasted a couple months, rusting thru again...!!!!!
The factory paint jobs are the absolute worst i`ve ever seen...!!!!

...and some people give me crap on here because i complain too much about dodge and their dealers.
I`ve said it in the past, when this truck started with the box rotting thru at 2yrs old, quality was AND is, STILL an issue with dodge.
I`ve never seen another vehicle at what the prices we pay for these trucks today, rot out so quick like a dodge.
Tons of 2008 on back in the area here with the rear wheel wells full of rust holes. What a shame.

I get some on the front bumper and some on the front of the bed where the spot welds are. Does only seem to be on the surface when I've cleaned it off.

I don't wash my truck at all in the winter - good layer of dirt seems to keep the stuff they put on the roads from rotting the paint better than washing it frequently.

2012, over a year old now, haven't found any rust. I park it outside all the time and I live in Seattle area so it's wet for at least 9 months a year.

About the same here. 9 months old in MA outside all the time (Vette gets the garage) so far no issues? First I have heard about this?
