Stock Brake Controller?
Hi,
I'm a fifth time Cummins powered 3500 owner and just traded my 2009 3500 Mega 4x4 DRW for a 2012 Mega 3500 4x4 DRW. Nice truck! I'm very pleased so far.
I do a bit of heavy towing and I have some questions regarding the stock brake controller that came on the truck. I've been using a Tekonsha Prodigy for the last several years and have been very happy with it. My fear with the integrated unit is that it's basically a non-proportional old school unit that has no brain involved with the braking action of the trailer.
Does anyone have any advice / experience with decent loads with the new stock unit on my 2012? My second question is, baring me rewiring the Teconsha as a stand alone unit, is it possible to bypass the stock unit with a simple wiring harness like my 2009?
Thanks in advance for your insight and advice!

I used to have a p3 and it was the cats meow. I towed 15-20k loads with surge, electric, electric over hydraulic. I have to say the built in one has been impressive but I have not towed over 8-10k with it so dont know but up to that limit so far has been no problem
