Hemi Octane Recommendation?
I second that. We are all being robbed with 10% ethanol blends.
As for 87 vs 89. I run 87. However I have thrown 89 in and seen better numbers.
What I have been doing for over a month, is adding Lucas upper cylinder lubricant with every tank. It has been helping and should be cleaning the engine as well.

We have a lot of gas stations where i live that give you a choice now. Our 87 & 89 octane is the only gas with 10% ethanol in it now. The 91 & 93.5 octane gas are now non-ethanol here. I run the 91 octane (non-ethanol) and my MPG`s are MUCH better since switching. My truck seems a lot happier as well... it runs MUCH smoother and better power as well. It sure wouldnt hurt my feelings one bit to see the tree hugger ethanol go away for good. Ethanol is NOT cost effective, and you get less mpg`s as well. I remember reading somewhere awhile back that burning "ethanol/alcohol" will make you lose up to 30% of your mpg`s. Who knows, maybe if they BAN ethanol, we might see 30mpg out of these HEMI trucks yet....!!!
Small engines couldn't care less about E0 vs E10 as long as you set the mixture properly. If you run E10 then richen up the mixture a bit, they are set for E0 from the factory.
Please explain to me then, why my fuel lines rot out? Never had an issue with it until after ethanol.
Haven't had an issue with my mower, but my trimmer has had the lines and primer go out and I had to do the lines and primer on my grandma's trimmer and chainsaw. I run SeaFoam through my mower religiously to keep the carb clean. It actually helps the carb prime too.

Old - reallllly old fuel line is not ethanol resistant - like 25 year old stuff. Ethanol has been in gas for 20+ years in MN and I can't think of a single person I know who uses any form of snake oil in their vehicles, boats or power equipment. Somehow magically my boat, mower, trimmer, chainsaw, pressure washer all run just fine on the stuff.
Smart guy like you, should already KNOW that ethanol is no good...! (ethanol attracts moisture..!)
Sorry, i will ALWAYS chose NOT to run it in ANYTHING if i can avoid it.

with ya dude. I have 2generators, 3 chain saws, 1 weed whacker, 1 pressure washer and 2 outboard motors.
The outboard motors have set sometimes for 6 months with ethanol gas. One is an 05 the other 06. Sometimes i have put a littlte startron in them sometimes not. Neither in 6-7 yrs have failed me. However, if the weed whacker, either generator, powerbwasher or saws set for a couple months the carbs are gummed up and I have changed many fuel line because they were junk. The mower doesn't seem to be bothered, maybe it has ethanol resistant lines. Contrary to Old Jeep, i know noone that does NOT have trouble with ethanol gas in their small engines. Old Jeep is a nice guy, very knowledgable but will NEVER argue against any thing above or beyond origional equip and ANYTHINGBadded to the fuel or oil is "snake oil" LOL
I just filled 4 cans with ethanol free gas, what do you want to get my problems ith small enginesbwill be over, unless they set for a yr or so. I never had problems 8-10yrs ago, so the 20+ yr theory just went out the door!!!

So what are you REALLY saying, you LIKE ethanol in your gas...???

Most of the issues that people claim from ethanol are the results of ethanol cleaning all the crap out of their fuel system or gas stations with leaky tanks that allow water into the fuel. I've never ever had a fuel related problem and I own an awful lot of gas powered equipment and toys. The power equipment and toys all sit for 6+ months at a time with whatever fuel was in them the last time I used them. Hadn't used my chainsaw in about 9 months and lo and behold it fired right up last week
