Default New to the Dodge family

I have a meeting with the dealer to trade in my 3.8L Genesis Coupe. I have to be able to pull a couple of horses as me and the wife are tired of having to pay and rely on others to get them places for shows etc.

This will be my first time owning a truck and I am looking at getting the SLT quad with the 5.7L hemi. Are there any other specific features I should be making sure I have aside from the class 4 hitch and trailer brakes? Any BS I should be aware of the dealer trying to upsell me on that is not required?

If you want to haul adults in the back seat then I would consider a crew. If you are hauling horses frequently then make sure that you get the 3.92 gears.

Good to know. I will have to sit in the back tonight to check out how much room there is. It would mostly be my son back there.

Also does the gearing have much effect of fuel economy?

Yes, but it is hard to say how If you tow heavy a lot or spend a lot of time doing city driving then 3.92 should give you a better overall fuel economy. If you spend most of your time on the highway like I do then 3.21 would give better economy. The "standard" ratio is 3.55.

I'm assuming that a couple horses and a trailer is 7K lbs or more.
