I'm looking at buying a 4th gen and I was looking for a buyers guide of sorts, what to look for, what the are some of the 4th gen problems what models to stay away from n such, I'm not new to dodges just the 4th gens

New or Used...??? Gas or Diesel...??? RC QC CC 2x4 or 4x4...???

Just my own personal opinion.... the hemi engine is the best pick of the litter. The transmissions are also proven reliable (545RFE). As for bells an whistles, less is more. I wouldnt buy a 2011 due to the axle update... its hit an miss with those. If you look into a 2011, make sure it had the rear axle update done. Ther is also a recall on the rear differentials on 2009 & 2010 1500 trucks. Probably your best bet is to look at the 2013 or wait for the 2014 trucks to come out if you`re buying new. The 2013 models ALL have a stronger frame, better headlight option, some other good upgrades throughout as well. They are now available with the ZF 8-speed transmission too, but walk softly with THAT transmission, its still new, so ther may be bugs that still need to be worked out with those.

I'm either buying brand new 4x4 rcsb with a hemi or a 2011 crew cab 4x4 if I can I can find it, both 1500's

I've been reading about the pinion nut recall, what about this axle upgrade? What axle did they switch to? And I think I'll stick to the tried and true 545rfe had it in my 04 2500 and it went through hell and was still kicking..
