Traded my 98 1500 for 2013 Ram 1500 4x4! pics inside
Hey guys,
So you guys remember my thread https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...e-slt-4wd.html few months back as I bought a really nice 98 laramie SLT 1500 for a great price. It was an one owner truck that's been taken care of. Previously never driven any truck, this was a whole different world I stepped foot in and I freaking' loved it! I was able to do things (as I drove RWD sports car from 2005) that I just couldn't do in tiny 2 seater sports car. Now, I mean I still LOVE driving my sports coupe at the track or at the autox, but this is a new journey I have started with the Truck. Since I loved the 98 so much, I was looking to get the new Ram model. I think RAM did a fantastic job with their truck and hey, don't take my word for it, ask Motortrend . 2013 and 2014 Truck of the year beating Silverado, Tundra, F-150 etc.
So here's my 2013 Ram 1500 ST with Tradesman package. It's the 4.7L V8 with 3.55 gears. I MUST have 8' bed but they are rare to find. I was able to pin point this one with 8' bed . Other options include appearance package, Power and remote entry group, popular equipment group, anti spin differential, rear sliding window, Chrome body side molding and side steps, LT265/70R17E OWL on/off road tires (I def wanted 17" vs. 20"). I love the sprayed bed liner. I'm guessing it's standard for 2013? Overall it's a fantastic car and I got a really good deal on it. Granted I have a small business, so I was able to get some discounts but props to Chrysler for allowing all those rebates. I paid $22,700 for the truck (plus tax, tag, title fee). I feel I did great. Here are some pics. Enjoy. Please let me know any tips or tricks or even recommendation what to do/not to do. Thanks

LOVE the front end. I already purchased Mopar Laramie grill for the front
Only had 13 miles when I test drove it.
Brought it home after 2 hour drive
I have already ordered Mopar Mudguards. Excited to install them.
Sprayed bedliner FTW!!!
Gotta love the interior! Ram division did an awesome job. Even my base model has a nice upscale touch to it.
LOVEEEE the usb input. I bought a $10 usb stick and dumped 5000 songs. Now I can listen to whatever I want on the go
one year FRee SIRIUS!
Here's my 370Z and the truck side by side.
My stable
I just rolled over 1000 miles. I have been driving it non stop as the weather has been really crappy here in NJ. So far no complaints. I'm just curious now, what regular oil would you recommend to change? I want to change with regular oil at 2000 (to clean out shavings) and around 5000 miles again with regular oil. Then 3rd change should be synthetic oil (Redline most likely). Thanks.
