Default Condensation in Fog Lights

Hey everyone, not sure this is the right section to post this in, but I could use a little help.

Yesterday I noticed my passenger side fog light had gone out and, to my dismay, also had a lot of condensation inside of the housing. I did take it to a car wash early last week and this is the first time I've noticed an issue with either fog light. (*knock on wood*). Now I'm not real concerned with just the light going out, but I'm really not liking the fact that there's water present inside the light housing. Do you know what could have caused this? Is it possible the car wash knocked something loose allowing water to enter it? It has been very wet here in MN lately...

Secondly, I was hoping you guys could help me with a fix. I was planning on crawling under the truck soon to replace the bulb, but I'm unsure what is the best way to dry out the housing. Air dry? Hair dryer? Also, is there something I should do to prevent this from happening again? How easy or difficult is it to remove the housing?

Thanks again for the help, I really appreciate it. Once I get back in town from work, I plan on trying to tackle the issue.

As the rubber seal on the fog light bulb ages an shrivels, it can let water in. A new bulb should have one on it.

I appreciate the help, thanks.

Is there any particular way that works well to dry out the housing?

Let it air dry on a nice day in MN... or pull it in the garage (if accessible) and let it air dry over night if you have a portable fan set it on low and blow into the housing over night.

Like the other poster said... But a new bulb and the new seal should seal it back up.

Hey guys, finally got around to replacing the bulb in my fog light and trying to get rid of the condensation, but when I went to go buy a new bulb, I didn't see an O-ring with it and it was the only bulb (Slyvania 9145) that O'Reilly's had to offer. Also, I spent a good amount of time trying to remove the moisture in the housing, but now that its all back together, condensation is still present.

Do you think I should let it "bake" a little longer in the sun? How much moisture in the housing does it take to create condensation? Also, maybe a bit off topic, but what brand of lights do you all recommend? Has anyone heard of Noyka? I have usually just stick with the Slyvania Xtravision...

Thanks for the help everyone.

There should be a seal somewhere in that assembly. On the bulb or in the hole where it seals to the bulb.
