Default Moving up

Looking to move from 3rd to 4th generation.

2010 - 2012 ish model

Will be retiring in a couple yrs. so we will be downsizing to one vehicle.

We have a 26ft TT that we will be pulling occasionally but not far.

I'm looking at Ram 4x4 quad cab with the 5.7 hemi.

My question is 1500 or 2500?

I tow a 26" TT with a 2010 RAM 4x4 CC 1500. I'm happy with my setup using a WD hitch. The "ride" is very smooth. My truck has no issues and it has towed the trailer from the Midwest to the deep south and back several times plus a few local camping trips. We drive it weekly around town because it is a good all-around vehicle.

1500's have coil springs in the rear and the 2500's had leaf springs.

I have owned numerous trucks and this is my favorite due to the smooth ride and overall quality.

If you do go a 1500 route, see if you can find a 2013 with the 8-speed (assuming you don't want to go newer). In my opinion, its a better transmission than the 5-speed and 6-speed in the 2010-2011 and 2012, respectively. Also, the upgraded interior in the 2013+ models is amazing.

Any way you go, you can't go wrong. These are great trucks.
