Finally bought my 2010 RC SLT. It has the RES radio, 6 speakers(which are beyond CRAP). The truck comes with the small dask speakers up front and 2 shallow mount 6x9 in the doors and two in the rear. I installed 6.5" in the doors using a 6x9 template to make them fit correctly. Installed regular depth 6x9s in the rear, depth was not an issue(tweeter protrusion could be because the speaker sits directly under the seat belt return.) I didn't mess with the dash speakers because I just didnt feel like pulling the dash apart. The front speakers share a signal with the door speakers. Later I installed all the sound proofing material and added an aftermarket sub and amp. I have a single 12" sub enclosure behind the seat and mounted the amp under the drivers seat. I used a line out converter to tap into the rear speakers for a signal for the amp. This way I didn't have to replace my stock headunit. Money is a little tight, so I'm getting by just fine with the components out of my old car. Sounds great, but the stock headunit is crap, cant wait to replace it. Hope this helps anyone interested in doing something simular.
regards
jeff

I am changing a mygig with 30 gig hdrive, satellite, uconnect module and wiring, including Ipod cable allowing most ipods to be worked from the radio. It was for less than a year and maybe 5000 kms. It was a new pullout build date is Feb 09 I believe, All updated with latest software. It is on ebay . If you are looking for a good OEM headunit to start with and don't require navigation .PM me if you need info.

thanks for the info, but I'm gonna hold out until I can finish my wheels and suspension.

Hell, there is a possibility I will be selling the truck next summer.
