Anyone have a 4th Gen yet?

This is my 09 that I wound up with after 6 months of fighting with chrysler to buy back my 08. I basically had to pay $4K out of pocket to upgrade from the nicely optioned 08 Laramie Quad to this Loaded 09 Crew.
Just like the 08 it likes a little hitch weight to keep the trailer straight but it still needs me to move the rig back a little but my chains for the ramps were not long enough to get the 3 more inches back it wanted to be at.
The new tow/haul mode is just freaking awesome though.
I towed the 4wheelers to the ranch this weekend. Not sure how much the trailer and toys way but we also added 600lbs of corn as well. Without messuring I'm going to say the truck squated about 2.5" with the trailer. It pulled it just great. I used the tow/haul mode, 68mph and cruise. Milage averaged about 10.6mpg round trip. Now my 99 got 9.2mpg with this same set up minus the corn. The 09 didn't seem to be struggling at all even when the cruise down shifted for hills. The 99 would slow down about 3-5mph when going up the hills. The 09 is way more comfortable also than the 99 is while towing so all in all I'm pleased with the purchase. I think as I get a few more miles on it the milage will improve. The RPM's were at 2k with cruise and at 68-70mph. The 99 was in the 2500 to 2700 range at 65mph. Jeff.

Just got Dodge to buy back my 07.5 Cummins (let's not get into all that here) and got a 09 Laramie 4X4 Black on Black with everything except the sliding rear window, sunroof and rear entertainment. I just swung by the dealership today and ordered the unpainted street fender flares that come on the two tone Laramies and will have them painted. Not sure with the monochrome Laramies don't come with color matched fender flares. Also ordered the iPod connector as well as the under carriage receiver which I also find odd it did not come with.
Comments: Best truck by far I have ever driven and I have driven the current Chevy, the new Ford and the Tundra. The "chrome clad" plastic wheels are a cheap cop out for trucks this expensive. I wish the my gig nav screen was a whole lot bigger. I have a Pioneer AVIC Z-2 system that I'd like to install but it is double din and the largest OEM size is din and half. Hopefully the aftermarket will cure this. The myGig system has many of the features of the Pioneer that I like. Tried to order the rear view camera but not out yet. Hopefully plug and play. I suspect that the aftermarket will have a myriad of springs for the rear out soon that will help mitigate the squating. Either springs or airbags. I do wish they offered the crew cab in a longer wheel base (not 8 foot) but longer by about 6 inches like Ford does.

For your camera problem, you can add it aftermarket. It doesn't have to even be a reverse camera either, it can be a babycam, cargocam, front bumper cam, whatever. It also unlocks the DVD so it plays while the vehicle is in motion, and you can enter addresses in the GPS while in motion.

Ya, but the way the trailer is built he has to put most of the weight in front of the trailer axels... so he's got a lot of tongue weight. If you could set it up so the weight was more evenly spread out on the trailer it wouldn't squat nearly as much.
I usually back it on the trailer and it puts a little more weight on the back of the trailer. The problem was that I destroyed both front axle shafts and 2 shocks that day offroading and the entire offroad park was solid ice when I was loading up. I had to winch it on the trailer, so forwards was my only option and I had to pull it forward just enough to chain the ramps. I have longer chains now so I can back it up just enough to get the weight right.
