Rear Spring Help
I Just bought a 2009 Dodge Ram.
Been browsing the forum seeing what there is to see.
I see several that need higher capacity loading.

I also have a new model GTO that wheel hops at times.
Fixed that with air bags in the springs. Air them up for a race, deflate for everday soft ride.
These will help the many post I have seen with sagging rears.
I did a quick search to find that link...there are probably better and its an easy fix

Things like airbags do not raise the max gvw of the truck. They make it look level and keep from the suspension bottoming out...but the same amount of weight is on the axle, tires, etc. Read your manual to ensure you are trailering or loading weight properly.
That being said......airbags to help stiffen the springs work as they are supposed to.

You cant increase the capacity of your truck without some serious structural and component upgrades. Your frame is set. Adding airbags will just keep it level will riding. No additional capacity. For more capacity you should have waited for the 2010 Ram 2500.
Yea, should not have said higher capacity loading. The model you bought decides how much weight the truck can handle....1500, 2500, 3500 etc. and the class hitch decides how much trailer it can pull
Yes it rides rough when the air bags are full. They are defalatable. All auto if you want.
Why I pointed them out:
From what I have seen the springs in the 2009 collapse signifigantly before load limits are reached. On the 1500 anyhow. No part of the truck is overloaded, just sagging from a front heavy trailer or a rear heavy bed load. Loads no where near the 1500's ratings.
Correctly balanced loads are not always possible.
I have seen this in person and here.
I thought about my comment and went back to the thread to edit and the 2nd post was there correcting me. That was good enough for me.

Nothin against what blue2050 said... but personally I think I'd rather just drop in heavier springs than bag it, even though it'd permanently effect the ride quality.... Less to go wrong that way though
