OEM Fender Flares on Monotone Trucks
Okay, in my continuing quest to battle dealer stupidity, I finally had a set of correctly painted (black) OEM fender flares for my truck. Of course they gave me the wrong hardware kit, but nothing a trip to ACE couldn't solve.
All I can say is Dodge should offer the color matched flares for every truck. I'll post pics this afternoon after I get it cleaned but it looks friggin awesome. Even my wife, who views my obsession with trucks akin to my masturbatory habits (bizzare amusement mixed with disdain and uncomprehension) said the truck looks great.
On another note. Everyone should get an 8mm socket and tighten up the screws holding their wheel well liners to the fenders, even if you have the factory flares on your two-tone Laamies. I had already lost one screw and just about each one could be backed out by hand or was loose.
Pics later today.

Looks really nice Mr. Scott. Especially good in black.
Might have mine done? Not sure it will look so good on Silver, but it does need something to keep the tire spray and rocks off the body.
Mine rather looks like it missing them anyhow with the flat metal all around the wheel well.
Yep.

Misterscott,
What is the correct hardware part number? How much did they charge to paint the flares? The truck looks great. I thought all of the Laramies came with flares, it must be only the two-tones. IMO, all Laramies should come with flares. It would be really nice if Mopar would have flares in all of the colors available so that screwing with the body shop could be avoided.

Thanks for the comments guys. With respect to the hardware, I just went to Ace and got black stainless screws, washers and backers. I ended up needing them on only one wheel well. I re-used the spacers on the front right that were on there and redistributed them to the other three wheels and used the original fastners as well. With the flares you need two or three more fastners per wheel well. The dealership was really flaky on this. The screwed up royally the paint job the first time so they painted them correctly for free. The sent me home with no mounting hardware and when the realized it they got me a set of hardware which was not correct. The screws were shorter than what was on the truck and it had to go through the additional material of the flare so you can do the math.
I know the dealership didnt make them and pretty sure mopar doesnt either, so they would have to be one of four or five brands..bushwacker,xenon,warn,egr. I had OE style bushwacker fender flares for my 2005 quad cab and they made the truck look hot. I've recently purchased a 2009 slt quad cab and bushwacker doen't make the OE style anymore. They make a lesser version and more aggressive version with the screw holes showing. Its still pretty early in the year and a lot of 2009 stuff still hasn't been made yet. My 2009 didn't come with mud guards. On the 2005 I had to purchase thin mud guards as the stock mud guards would't fit, just as well, they had the dealerships name on them. The truck in the picture is beautiful. Ihad to make a choice between black and mineral gray. I had a black dodge, best looking when clean, thats why I decided on gray.
